Hear Ye, Hear Ye, IRS

Well as of this morning, in the year 2014, I’ve spent $326.94 on making and selling my novels and I’ve brought in approximately $354.67 in revenue (ah, sales, that is).

So, if you count the time it takes to write the novels and pay me (yeah, right!) minimum wage of $7.25 — let’s estimate each novel takes at least 100 hours (are you kidding me? 1,000 hours!) and I’ve written 2 this year — and you count the hours I ‘bark’ at book-signings, then I am DEEPLY in the HOLE… or, in the RED.

Life is an adventure!

  1. I realize I’ve seriously underestimated the time I spend writing a novel – did I say “100” hours? Nuts! More like “1000” hours! Man am I ever underpaid!
